Today was my last day with Pat. It seemed important to make it memorable. So I took her to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Del Rio, for a leisurely ladies' lunch.
We filled our creative wells.
With chips and salsa and margaritas.
Tomorrow morning I will take her to the airport. Then I will get back to writing. I promise.
One of the great labor-saving devices of today is tomorrow.

WoW!!! OK,,,It's ALL positive,,,But I'm amazed by what I've read from you over the past 6 months,,,The How do you do it, & to be honest I ask myself "why do you do it"?
I'm a single parent of 3 young adults,,and I'm a Single Grand Parent of 3 little 2(+/-)year olds so they take a lot of my time. I'm their caretaker and I work as an independent rep for a few different manufacturing companies,,,,,,but you are AMAZING!You're Very energetic! When do you sleep? How long do you sleep?
And such a peacful smile you have :~)
I've found my Hero :~)
Jeff
There's no rush! Take your time. What's life without a few roses to sniff.
Those pictures are yummy and they totally DO NOT make me want to do my homework LOL. Thanks for the add Pam. It's nice to "meet" you too.
Jeff, thanks for reading and commenting. I do what I do because I love it! It sounds like you are a busy, happy guy yourself. Sleep? My motto is, "I'll sleep when I'm dead." Seriously, I am lucky that I have a lot of energy and don't require a lot of sleep. Hero? I don't think I can live up to all THAT, but thanks for your kind words. I hope you will come back for more!
You are right, S.M. It will probably be months before I have an opportunity to see Pat again, so it was definitely more important this week to spend time with my friend. The work will wait. It always does!
I'm sorry I distracted you from your homework, Jennifer! But I appreciate your stopping by! When you come back, you might find something more inspirational and motivating. But no promises, LOL! :-)
Pam, I have to agree with Jeff, You are an amazing woman! But not to be selfish, we all enjoy your writings and stories so keep it up because you don't know how you are impacting ones life day to day. So as far as sleep goes just the minimum to get to the next story. Ha Ha. Just kidding. Love Ya. Cindy
Aw, thanks, Cindy! I love writing this blog, and if what I have to say makes a difference to someone from time to time, that's icing on the cake. Your comment on sleep might become my new motto - thanks! :-)
Yum. Chips and salsa!
So glad you got to spend time with your friend. The writing can wait. :-)
Melissa, imho girlfriends, chocolate, chips/salsa and margaritas make life worth living. But writing is life. I'm back to work today. :-)
I tried to comment on this blog the first day it appeared, but somehow it got disconnected. Anyway, my comment had something to do about seeing the straws in the salted rim glasses with the Margarita on the rocks. Why sip something that good through a straw when the salty rim is so complementary to the taste of the yummy Margarita. I remember Del Rio from when we lived there--Great Salsa & chips along the rest of their good menu items. Glad you had fun with Pat & wishing you blessings with love always~
It's so funny you should say that, Mom; I always insist that straws are for "sissies," and I NEVER use one when drinking a margarita with salt on the rim of the glass! I love Del Rio and I love you. Hope to see you soon!
That's my girl! :-)
Thanks, Mom! Wish you were here to have a margarita with us! :-)
