NaNoWriMo 2011: So Far, So Good
It took everything I had. But today I exceeded my word count goal of 1667 words (by 11). And I made a batch of brownies. Then I put on a pretty dress and taught ten piano students.
Now I am too tired to say much of anything. As a matter of fact, I think I should go to bed before I get my second wind. Because when that happens, I can stay up all night. And sometimes do.
But I wanted to share that I am totally psyched about this project. As I explained on Between Birthdays yesterday, I have discovered that I am a "plotter," not a "pantser." With the aid of my Goal, Motivation and Conflict charts and the bare bones outline I scribbled late last night (I intend to flesh it out more later), I think I might be doing my best writing to date.
And now I'm off to dreamland. What about you? Are you a plotter are a pantser? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year? If so, did you meet your Day 1 goals?

Definitely pantser and I don't write sequentially, so that makes people crazy. Going through my notebooks and finding some amazing stuff I wrote 2,3,4 years ago that I'd completely forgotten.
BTW, my "real" personna just got a job offer today, training starting Nov. 28th after drug testing and background check. Whoohoo! I WILL have to get more organized now!
Keep up the good work and amaze yourself!
I wanted to be a pantser, Julee, I really did, but that's just not how I'm wired. CONGRATS on the job offer! That is great news. Yes, you will have to be more organized now, but that's okay. Thanks for the encouragement - a few more minutes online, one more cup of coffee, and than it's back to NaNoLand for me!
Definitely a pantser as well. I tried an outline... and the story had other ideas!
I wish I was a plotter - it'd be much less messy!
I guess we each have to do what works best for us as individuals, S.M. After all, that's what makes us all so interesting, right?
